Handheld International Management Trainee Programme 2010

The international management trainee programme is designed to give you a thorough education and good insight in the company, our business and the markets we work in, all in purpose of ensuring the best possible start of your career. The programme is designed to combine both theoretical and practical training; the theoretical segments will consist of both internal and external training. The trainee will not only be on track for an international career path, but they will have gained important contacts within a fast paced industry.

Training

The theoretical training will be integrated with the ITM Trade Academy and will be both internal (Handheld) and external (ITM & other). The ITM Trade Academy is accredited by IATTO (International Association of Trade Training Organisations), which means that in addition to graduating from Handheld´s International Management Trainee Programme you will also receive a degree/diploma from ITM Trade Academy.

The internal training will be divided into the following segments:

The ITM Trade Academy curriculum will consist of the following segments:

• Managing Across Cultures (1 day)

Practical training

During these first few months you will have the opportunity to network with many people who will be important contacts in your future work. At the same time, you will learn how the organisation works with process flows and support functions. Once on assignment, the fast paced programme really gets under way. The practical training is designed to help you to get to know the company, the markets and the customers. Your specific programme will be tailor made based on your experiences and preferences to ensure the right challenge and opportunity. The practical training is divided into five segments:

Introduction and organisation processes

You will work in each of the organisations support functions to get a better understanding for your co-workers and their processes.

Project Management

You will be involved or lead one of our internal improvement projects as a full member of the project.

Value Chain Management

You will be involved with relations with suppliers/manufacturers/sales organization and end customers to develop new products or manage existing product lines.

Sales & Marketing Domestic

You will work in Sales & Marketing for the Swedish market. In this sales and marketing role you will interact with end users and resellers, take part in exhibitions as well as customer visits.

Sales & Marketing International

You will be based at one of our international offices and work in Sales & Marketing. In this role you will interact with end users and resellers, take part in exhibitions as well as customer visits. Each segment will last app. 3 months with overlapping segments.

After the programme

Once you have successfully graduated from our International management trainee programme you will be placed in a key role in our company based on your performance and availability.
